Week 8

This week is test week, I was looking forward to the test as I had confidence about passing it. in the test, we were asked to write a compare and contrast paragraph in section C. The topic for this was the light up at orchard road and marina bay. I found it really hard to start at first but after writing the introduction everything just went in the flow. Other than that, we manage to finish paragraph this week we were taught about definition paragraph. And on the last lesson, we started on essay writing. Even though I don’t understand fully how to write a good essay, I know mr guna would be able to teach me and make me a good writer in future

Week 7

This week we were taught about comparing and contrasting ideas. We were also asked to write a paragraph on comparing Alaska to Hawaii it was a pretty simple paragraph to write as all the points were given to us and all we had to do was to put it in a paragraph. I have the fantasy of comparing stuff since I was young and I think to me comparing things is something I would be good in. Next week we will be having a test on Monday I hope I will pass it well.

Week 6

This week we were shown a video on Vietnamese spring roll in our advance English class. Mr guna asked us to write a progressive paragraph as we were taught about it during the week. The guy in the video was very funny as he cannot pronounce words properly and I found it hard to understand him. This made me realize how important pronouncing words properly is in the real world. Other than that I found it quite easy to write the progressive paragraph as it was something in me since secondary school.

Week 5!
For this week advance English class, we were taught about how to write a descriptive paragraph and we watched a movie called night at the museum. Mr guna than asked us to write a paragraph describing the museum as we were taught description paragraph that week. It was a very nice movie on a whole and it was good practice for us. I feel it was good practice for us as I think it is hard to do a descriptive paragraph as I cannot put my emotions to words.

Hawaii and Alaska are both nice places to visit with a few differences. For instance is its accommodations, Alaska offers quality hotels with a basic to luxury needs. While Hawaii have a wide range of excellent hotels and condo from luxury to budget prices. The climate of the two states are also different. In Hawaii, it often rains in the summer and is hot and humid. On the other hand in Alaska, it seldom rains during the summer and there are little or no humidity in Alaska and the temperature is perfect in the summer. Lastly, both of them offer different type of natural beauty. Alaska offers chugach and mount mckinley and glaciers in Alaska. However Hawaii offers volcano nation park with canons and beautiful beaches. Both states are different in some way or another and are two interesting places to visit.
